Want to Know Your Time before You Finish the Race? Timex IRONMAN Bodylink "Finish Time" Can Help

Ever been in a competitive race and wondered if you're on target to achieve your goal time? I know I have. Observing course markers and keeping a running time can help, but too often an event is not clearly marked and the distance uncertain.

Then you have to do the arithmetic in your head. If you're anything like me, doing any form of thinking at race speed will make your head spin! Fortunately the Timex IRONMAN Bodylink watch series offers a great feature that does the work for you.

Finish mode allows you to predict how much time it will take to finish a specified event distance such as 5k or 10k. The prediction is based on the Bodylink's GPS technology which can also give you other useful information such as your speed and pace.

It is also possible to set your watch to alert you if you are moving either too quickly or slowly for your desired pace based on your values for the event distance and target time. Finish Mode then displays the following real-time data and presents it for your viewing throughout the event:

Finish Time: Predicted finish time based on your current speed and distance Heart Rate Pace (expressed in minutes/km or minutes/mile) Avg Pace Speed (velocity) Avg Speed Distance: Distance traveled while the chrono has been running

On the other hand, in many races I think I'd rather not have known my finish time!! A topic for another article and one you're not likely see from me any time soon ;)
